He was one of the most feared sluggers in the game, known for his powerful home runs and intimidating presence in the batters box. During his 17-year career, he helped lead the Mets and Yankees to four world series championships and consistently made the All Star Team.
He was also suspended three times for substance abuse which led to a downward spiral in his life. Addictions, abuse, divorce, cancer, jail time, and other issues are a few things that led him to lose it all in 2003. However, God's plan was not to be undone.
